Daufuskie Island Information

Daufuskie Island doesn't have a bridge so the only way you can get to the island is by water!

Daufuskie lies roughly one mile south of Hilton Head Island, SC, three miles north of Tybee Island and 12 miles north of Savannah. Travel times by boat vary, based on the dock from which you depart.

The typical travel time once you get on a ferry is 45 minutes from Squire Pope Rd or Broad Creek Marina on Hilton Head.  See Ferry Schedule.

We don't have car ferries, so once you get to the island, the only way to get around is by golf cart, bike or walking. Your best bet if you are not staying at the resort is to hop on a tour bus or rent a cart at Freeport. If you are staying at the Daufuskie Resort, you can rent a cart after you arrive. Also, several tour companies bring groups to Daufuskie if you want to visit Daufuskie and have a private tour of the island.
